Popular music media literacy: A pilot study

چکیده

The current study pilot tested a popular music media literacy website that was developed based on the final report of APA Division 46 Task Force Sexualization Popular Music (2018). hypothesized education would produce significant differences between baseline assessment and post-literacy for outcomes related to reflecting real life, viewing self as similar portrayals, skepticism, level engagement with music, self-reported self-esteem. It also participants favorable attitudes regarding being tested. Participants included 52 emerging adult college students who completed assessments after reviewing website. At baseline, reported moderate levels themselves representations high skepticism at baseline. Results indicated effective in increasing general skepticism. implications future research next directions are discussed.
